The line was clippers -5.5 on bet365 before the game, ended up being +51, for a 56 point difference in prediction vs reality. Has this been beat? Edit: just remembered the bulls blowing out the bucks by 54 in 2015 playoffs. I chose a proline tie on that one lmao

So many Trump supporters said Trump was 'definitely going to win just you see' and didn't bet. So credit to these people for at least putting their money where their mouth is. But my God putting all your stock in the words of Bannon and Giuliani and that whole echo chamber? Crazy.
So many people of all persuasions routinely make extremely confident statements about how X is 'certain to happen' but if you offer to bet them they suddenly equivocate. Hyperbole is easy when it is cost free. The bets don't even have to be at all large for people to equivocate either so it's not a matter of 'Some people just don't have the money to bet.' They just don't want a record of being wrong according to a clear set of terms specified in advance.
Be careful about the emotional costs involved in betting in addition to the financial ones. I had a fair bit of money of Biden on election night and really wanted him to win for non-financial reasons too. Didn't end up going to sleep till 5 when things started to turn in the Midwest but boy oh boy the hours of 8 pm to 5 am were depressing as can be.
Not particularly a Nets fan, but once you guys get over attachments to the guys you gave up, you should be excited about your new superstar. Oddsmakers are already moving the Nets' championship odds second only to the Lakers.

With all that's leaked, Harden's been a diva for years by almost any standard, but he's been no worse than a top-5 NBA player on the court according to perhaps the best publicly-published advanced metrics of BPM and RPM for a few years... and he has a history of being really durable. He's noticeably stepped up his defense the last couple years too, after being Shaqtin-a-fool MVP. I'll probably pull for you guys to lose in the playoffs b/c I want LeBron to add to his chips and pass Jordan's legacy, but if we get bounced, your team might be my most preferred alternative (I lived on Long Island for a dozen years, and I want to see Harden get at least one ring).
