Welcome to the 2019-2020 Detroit Red Wings season. This is the third version of this guide to help out visitors looking for some information from locals about Little Caesers Arena (LCA) and surrounding area in Detroit. I hope you find it helpful. Suggestions welcome!

• Safety around the LCA as well as nearby Detroit city streets is very good. Detroit has a reputation of having high crime however in the 25+ years I've been going to games in downtown Detroit I've never felt threatened for my safety. Inside and outside the LCA main entrances are police as well as Olympia Security before, during, and after the game. The streets around the LCA and out to the restaurants and hotels are walkable. But like in any modern city don't go down the sketchy dark streets. Stay on the well-lit streets. Park in a structure or lot and not on a dark side street. Lock your car doors. Don't leave visible items inside the car. In other words don't be a victim.
  
• A guided tour of the LCA is available by scheduling in advance on specific dates. Check the LCA tours webpage for more information on prices and scheduling.
  
• Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, or at the LCA box office, or through a reseller like Stubhub or even Ticketmaster's Ticket Exchange. Join the mailing list and check out the Red Wings social media for short notice deals like student and military rush ticket pricing and Fan Packs. Be advised the special offers are typically for low demand games like weekdays. Friday and Saturday games especially near holidays or against Canadian teams are high demand and typically not going to have special offers. These games will most likely not have cheap seats even on the reseller market. Starting last season the LCA has changed to mobile tickets only so no more paper tickets. Check out the mobile ticketing guides for more information. There are mobile ticket assistance street teams at the main entrances if you have an issue onsite.
  
• There is a promotional schedule of in-arena giveaways for specific home games. These giveaways are given to entrants at the door after ticket scan until supplies run out. You can get these even at the restaurants if you entered through their doors. If there is a giveaway item that you really want I recommend being at the doors as close to opening as possible. The longer after doors open the less likely you are to get them item.
  
• Joe Louis Arena is activaly being torn down right now. It should be completed by the end of 2019, maybe sooner. If you want a last glimpse, head over to 19 Steve Yzerman Dr, Detroit, MI 48226.
  
• There are a variety of hotels in Detroit ranging in prices from high at the Westin Book Cadillac to lower at the Holiday Inn Express next door to the Westin. Nearby casinos such as the Ilitch-owned Motor City Casino or MGM offer free shuttle to the LCA or short 8 block walk. Check out TripAdvisor Detroit hotels for additional lodging options. My hotel experience is very limited in Detroit because I have no reason to stay in them so post your hotel tips in the comments below.
  
• The LCA has a variety food options (pizza, shawarma, burritos, salads, sammiches, pulled pork, grilled cheese, etc.) inside but they are all at a premium price. The free game day program at the LCA contains a map. In my experience the best bang for your buck is the chicken pita from The Coop. If you want a complete Ilitch experience then get a slice or whole pie of Little Caesars pizza. Detroit is a foodie town and there are many options to choose from outside the arena. If it is your first time to Detroit or haven't been there yet I recommend getting an iconic coney island hot dog from American or Lafayette PROTIP: Lafayette. • Harry’s Bar and Temple Bar are neighborhood bars that are within a 2 block walking distance to the LCA if you want to drink and hangout with fans before or after. The /detroit sidebar has more bar suggestions in and around the city. PROTIP: take the QLINE streetcar (US$1.50/3 hours) to the Canfield stop and quaff a few brews over crack fries at HopCat then take the QLINE south 2 stops (10 blocks) to the LCA stop at Sproat St. Got favorite bar in the area? • If you're rich and want convenience, park at the LCA VIP parking structure. It may be pricier (US$45 as of 2019-09-17) but it is a comfortable sheltered stroll to the LCA. If you are up for a short walk and would like to save a buck park at the MGM Casino or Motor City Casino for free. From there you can walk 8 blocks or take their free shuttle. The further away you park from the LCA the cheaper it is. Fox Theater is $35, the two Comerica Park structures off the I-75 service drive are both $30. There are also several surface lots nearby, some let you pay in advance. Check out the parking map Want to reserve a spot? Try Parkwhiz.com or their app. Some bars also have shuttles for free or a couple bucks. PROTIP: Nemo's has the best shuttle drivers. Early birds park for free on Temple, Woodward, and in Brush Park across Woodward from the LCA but be careful where you park because the police will write tickets if you park illegally. Ask me how I know. The parking situation is always evolving so post your tips in the comments below.
  
• Coming from Canada? There is a Windsor tunnel bus US/CAN$5.00 one way from the bus terminal downtown Windsor (Chatham and Church) to Cass Ave. and the I-75 service drive next to the LCA. Getting through immigration takes a few minutes. Have your passport and don't be drunk. Check the link above for service times and details.
  
• The LCA doors open 1.5 hours before puck drop. There are four sets of doors one at each corner. The Chevy Plaza at the southwest corner has a large screen that shows pre-game hype videos and on occasion the live game. Also on occasion, there are beebeverage stands in the plaza as well as picnic games (e.g. corn hole). You may have to pass through security to enter the Chevy Plaza but no ticket scan until you enter the arena doors. LCA restaurants will let you in even earlier with a ticket but access to the concourse is blocked off until all doors open. PROTIP: in cold weather prior to main doors opening either hang out at the Box Office (northeast corner) or the District Market entrance just south of the Box Office.
  
• You can sort of watch the players arrive by car (and visitors by bus) into the parking structure off Clifford north of the I-75 service drive. Get there at least 2 hours before puck drop.
  
• The best photos of the LCA exterior are from the east side of Woodward just north of the westbound I-75 service drive looking at the building from the southeast corner. Photo
  
• Will Call tickets at the box office located at the northeast corner of the arena off Woodward Ave.
  
• There is a strict bag size policy enforced at the door. I’ve seen some upset people turned away at the doors. Know before you go.
  
• You will have to go through a metal detector and may be subject to extra screening to enter the LCA.
  
• Free WIFI is available inside as well as outside of the arena.
  
• There are free game day programs inside the LCA at the entrances. Grab one because it has an arena map with section numbers and vendor locations including where to get Detroit and Michigan beers. Sometimes there are interesting articles too.
  
• The Team Store souvenir shop is in the southwest corner of the LCA. The authentic signed gear and memorabilia located in the east end of the store. There are also vendors scattered around the via and upper concourse selling souvenirs. PROTIP: the LCA prices are high for swag. Buy your gear ahead of time online or at Vintage Detroit in Detroit or FanaticU and Hockeytown Authentics out in the suburbs.
  
• Friendly ushers are everywhere to help out and answer your questions. Most will take your photo for you if you ask politely.
  
• During warmups, fans congregate around the glass. Players come out at 30 minutes before game time for warmups. PROTIP: I recommend watching the Red Wings shoot at the net during warmups from behind the net on the glass in section 102/103. Hearing the puck smack the glass inches from your face is neat. Same for aisle for 115/116 on the visiting team side behind the net. The ushers will let you down to the ice level for warmups even if you don’t have tickets in that section.
  
• The sea of banners is gone but the retired jerseys and Stanley Cup Championship banners remain. They are not the originals which are now hanging in the practice rink below the main rink. You may not see them until after hype video because they are retractable. The banners share the ceiling with the Pistons banners on the other side. PROTIP: The best photo op for the Red Wing banners is in front of the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast desk at the top of section 219.
  
• There is a nice mix of old and new artwork in the LCA. Take some time before the game to walk around the lower and upper level concourses to see the manholes, the Howe, Lindsay, Delvecchio statues from the Joe, the original Olympia sign, murals of Red Wing greats. Look for the Red Wing logo at the northeast corner lower concourse made of auto parts. There are multiple selfie and photo spots too like the Red Wings bench and Little Caesars spear. The LCA is shared with the Detroit Pistons basketball team so you will see artwork and displays featuring their greats as well.
  
• Every seat at the LCA has a view of the ice. Some seats in the upper level (rows 6 and above between the red lines) have obstructed views of the center ice score board but there displays mounted behind the gondolas. The layout of the seats are steep especially in the upper bowl where there is less leg room than lower bowl. Sections, rows, and seats are on your ticket but navigation is based on portals. Check your ticket for your portal, go to that, then find your section/row/seat. Sit in your own seat. If you see seats that are still empty well into the first period then move to them. If someone asks you to move out of their seat just do it. Explore the arena to check out different seat views. PROTIP: go up to portals 78-82 to check out the vertigo inducing view down from the gondola.
  
• Get to your seat 10 minutes before puck drop to see the pre-game hype video on the huge scoreboard and on-ice projection.
  
• The LCA has a custom organ with in-house organists that play before the hype video, end of intermissions, and between plays. Lance Luce is recognizable in his red sequined jacket. To see the organ go to the upper concourse behind section 301.
  
• Most Red Wings fans are friendly people and quite knowledgeable about their team and the sport. Strike up a conversation and you'll probably learn something new.
  
• Cheer for your visiting team but don't be a dick about it.
  
• DO NOT STAND UP OUT OF YOUR SEAT WHILE THE PUCK IS IN PLAY.
  
• The LCA has a strict no smoking policy. There is no smoking inside or anywhere outside of the arena at any door. If you leave the LCA to smoke you will not be readmitted.
  
• No, that's not the goal horn from the Joe. It is a recording of the Joe horn and to many people it sounds dull, flat, and disappointing. The horn sound is louder in the lower bowl but then again the speakers are louder in the lower bowl and have a lot more bass than the upper bowl. I have complained to no avail.
  
• Don't leave early! If the Red Wings win the DJ will play Don't Stop Believing in the final seconds or right after the game ends for you and thousands of your friends to sing along. The arena DJ plays music from multiple genres from Motown to country to pop and is known to take suggestions. He can be reached on Twitter @thehockeyjockey.
  
• There is no public accessible spot for athlete autographs. The best opportunity for autographs is an event created for that purpose such as the Season Ticket Holder Open House, Fan Day Open House, or charity events like Toast of Hockeytown, Charity Poker Tournaments, as well as autograph signing events posted on facebook.
  
• Post-game ride share pickups are along the I-75 service drive southeast of the LCA. Shuttles will pick you up where they dropped you off.

• I personally do not have much experience with hotels in Detroit but I know people who have stayed at the Westin Book Cadillac and the nearby Ilitch-owned Motor City Casino which also has free shuttle to the LCA or an 8 block walk. • With all of the new good food options I recommend checking out a restaurant inside the LCA. Sure the food is stadium prices but there are now three full restaurants located inside the arena as well multiple food stall vendors serving a variety of tastes. The free game day program at the LCA contains a map. I am partial to The Coop. If you want a complete Ilitch experience then get a slice or whole pie of Little Caesars pizza to go or sit down at Mike’s Pizza Bar. Outside the arena I also recommend somewhere iconic such as a coney from American or Lafayette (PROTIP: Lafayette). There are many good restaurants near the LCA and beyond. • There is a strict bag size policy enforced at the door. I’ve seen some upset people turned away at the doors. Know before you go.
  
• You will have to go through a metal detector and may be subject to extra screening to enter the LCA.
  
• Free WIFI is available inside as well as outside of the arena.
  
• There are free programs inside the LCA at the entrances. Grab one because it has an arena map with section numbers and vendor locations. Sometimes there are interesting articles too.
  
• There is souvenir shop called the Team Store in the southwest corner of the LCA. The authentic signed gear and memorabilia located in the east end of the store. There are also vendors scattered around the via and upper concourse selling souvenirs. PROTIP: the LCA prices are high for swag. Buy your gear ahead of time online or at Detroit Athletic in Detroit or Hockeytown Authentics up in Troy.
  
• Friendly ushers are everywhere to help out and answer your questions. Most will take your photo for you if you ask politely.
  
• There are local Detroit and Michigan craft beer vendors scattered around the arena priced at around US$10. Check the map in the free program for locations.
  
• During warmups, fans congregate around the glass. Players come out at 30 minutes before game time for warmups. PROTIP: I recommend watching the Red Wings shoot at the net during warmups from behind the net on the glass in section 102/103. Hearing the puck smack the glass inches from your face is neat. Same for aisle for 115/116 on the visiting team side behind the net. The ushers will let you down to the ice level for warmups even if you don’t have tickets in that section.
  
• The sea of banners is gone but the retired jerseys and Stanley Cup Championship banners remain. They are not the originals (those are hanging in the practice rink below the main rink) but are retractable. The banners share the ceiling with the Pistons banners on the other side. PROTIP: The best photo op for the Red Wing banners is in front of the Fox Sports Detroit broadcast desk at the top of section 219. Say hi to Keats for me.
  
• There is a nice mix of old and new artwork in the LCA. Take some time before the game to walk around the lower and upper level concourses to see the manholes, the Howe/Lindsey/Delvecchio statues from the Joe, the original Olympia sign, murals of Red Wing greats. Look for the Red Wing logo at the northeast corner lower concourse made of auto parts. There are multiple selfie and photo spots too like the Red Wings bench and Little Caesars spear. The LCA is shared with the Detroit Pistons basketball team so you will see artwork and displays featuring their greats as well.
  
• Every seat at the LCA has a great view of the ice. Some seats in the upper level (rows 6 and above between the red lines) have obstructed views of the center ice score board but there displays mounted behind the gondolas. The layout of the seats are steep and from the ice it looks like the stands are stacked on top of you. Sections, rows, and seats are on your ticket but navigation is based on portals. Check your ticket for your portal, go to that, then find your section/row/seat. Sit in your own seat. If you see seats that are still empty well into the first period then move to them. If someone asks you to move out of their seat just do it. Explore the arena to check out different seat views. PROTIP: go up to portals 78-82 to check out the vertigo inducing view down from the gondola.
  
• Get to your seat 10 minutes before puck drop to see the pre-game on the huge scoreboard and on-ice projection.
  
• The LCA now has a legit organ with in-house organists. They're pretty entertaining. Check it out the upper concourse behind section 301.
  
• Don't be disrespectful during the national anthem(s). Just stand politely and shut up. Some visitors don't understand how disrespectful they can be. It's like 2 minutes, put the phone down.
  
• Most Red Wings fans are friendly people and quite knowledgeable about their team and the sport. Strike up a conversation and you'll probably learn something new.
  
• Cheer for your visiting team but don't be a dick about it.
  
• DO NOT STAND UP OUT OF YOUR SEAT WHILE THE PUCK IS IN PLAY.
  
• The LCA has a strict no smoking policy. There is no smoking area outside of any door. If you leave the LCA to smoke you will not be readmitted.
  
• We know the goal horn recording sucks. We've already told the Red Wings organization about it. They know. They're working on it.
  
• There are a lot of restrooms in the LCA. I haven’t see any long lines like the Joe had. Sadly(?) there are no urinal troughs in the men’s rooms.
  
• Don't leave early! If the Red Wings win the DJ will play Don't Stop Believing in the final seconds or right after the game ends for you and thousands of your friends to sing along. • There is no public accessible spot for athlete autographs. The best opportunity for autographs is an event created for that purpose such as the Season Ticket Holder Open House, Fan Day Open House, or charity events like Toast of Hockeytown, Charity Poker Tournaments, as well as autograph signing events posted at https://www.facebook.com/DRWautographs/.
  
• Post-game ride share pickups are along the I-75 service drive south of the LCA. Shuttles will pick you up where they dropped you off.

• What’s happening this morning? It was another slow evening of news other than the German Aug factory order numbers (which were very strong although the euro and Eurozone stocks are both in the red), a few US earnings reports (COST and YUMC), andsome M&A (GIMO, HON, JWN, PENN/PNK, SNCR, and more). The overall macro narrativeremains the same as it was at the Thurs close (see below for an update on the macro narrative as well as potential upcoming risks). The major Asian indices generally saw gains – TPX +0.28%, NKY +0.3%, Hang Seng +0.28%, HSCEI +0.54%, Taiwan +0.14%, Australia +1.04%, and India +0.5-7% (mainland China and Korea were both closed). There weren’t any huge themes in Asia although Macau casino stocks were weak in HK on back of underwhelming Golden Week visitor numbers (autos and financials led HK on the upside). Australia’s 1% rally was led by banks, miners, and telecoms. The major Eurozone indices are trading off small (~10-20bp); autos are outperforming while banks, retail, energy, and utilities lag. The GBP is extending its losses from Thurs amid more uncertainty around UK PM May (the DXY spiked ~50bp Thurs and is up small so far Fri morning). US S&P futures are trading down 1-2 points.
• Calendar for Fri 10/6 – the focus will be on the US jobs report for Sept (8:30amET), US wholesale inventories/trade sales for Aug (10amET), US consumer credit for Aug (3pmET), and Fed speakers (Kaplan 8:30amET on CNBC, Bostic 9:15amET, Dudley 12:15pmET, Kaplan 12:45pmET, and Bullard 1pmET). o US jobs preview – there is very little anticipation or focus on the Sept jobs report (Fri morning 8/6 8:30amET) as 1) most are anticipating large storm-related distortions and 2) at this point in the cycle it only requires ~75K monthly adds to keep the UR steady (as was discussed in this JPMorgan report http://bit.ly/2fbT6cE). The St is in print at +80K for adds (vs. ADP for Sept at +135K and Aug BLS +156K) w/a 4.4% UR (unchanged w/Aug) and wages +0.3% M/M and +2.5% Y/Y (vs. Aug +0.1% M/M and +2.5% Y/Y). It’s very difficult to see the Sept BLS report changing the near-term US monetary policy trajectory (w/ongoing normalization and a FF hike on 12/13). The potential for a hike on 11/1 is very low and if anything the Sept CPI on Fri 10/13 may be a more important data point than jobs on Fri 10/6. Instead, the bigger Fed uncertainty has nothing to do w/data or policy but instead concerns staffing (i.e. who will be the next chair? A Trump announcement could come as soon as next week – Powell and Warsh are the frontrunners according to media reports w/the former appearing to have a slight edge).

• Eco data recap for Fri morning 10/6 – the big data came out of Germany where factory orders for Aug beat expectations by a wide margin (orders +3.6% M/M vs. the St +0.7% and +7.8% Y/Y vs. the St +4.7%). This is a necessary step in the tax process (as these resolutions contain the reconciliation instructions allowing tax to pass via a simple majority in the Senate) but also a relatively minor one. COST EPS beats thanks to better SG&A and favorable tax while GMs were light; Sept same-store-sales beat w/upside in the US (the stock ended down 3% during the Thurs after-hours trading session). YUMC’s results came in ahead of expectations (EPS/same-store-sales) and it increased capital return. SNCR reentered M&A talks w/Siris Capital (Siris is looking to buy SNCR’s Intralinks and may take a ~20% equity stake in SNCR); SNCR ended up ~27% during the Thurs after-hours trading session. According to the WSJ, HON is pursuing an acquisition of Evoqua Water Tech in a deal that could be worth $3B (http://on.wsj.com/2yseCSp). Identifying risks – what could go wrong?

• Reflation enthusiasm is undercut by less aggressive CB normalization, dramatic curve flattening, and/or a softening in nominal growth. Of all the reflation pieces (monetary policy normalization, expansionary fiscal policy, firming inflation, and ongoing real growth strength), the last piece (real growth) is increasingly being taken for granted.
• Bank investors wind up focusing too much on reflation/yields (which are tailwinds) but miss weakening credit (higher provisions) and tepid loan growth.
• The first speech by the next Fed chair unsettles sentiment (assuming the chair isn’t Yellen).
• The tax process slows in Washington as Republicans prove incapable of reaching a consensus on rates, deductions, and deficits.
• Paul Ryan decides to “pull a Boehner”, stepping down as Speaker out of frustration with his inability to pass legislation.
• The final tax bill results in materially higher rates for upper-income Americans.
• May winds up stepping down as UK PM, sowing ongoing Brexit uncertainty.
• Abe does much worse than anticipated during the upcoming Japan election (10/22).
• North Korea conducts an above-ground nuclear bomb test (or even worse, an atmospheric test).
• Iran decides to resume its nuclear weapons program, sparking an immediate escalation of Middle East geopolitical tensions (Trump’s Iran speech is coming up on 10/12).
• Washington introduces (or threatens to introduce) tough new regulations aimed at internet/social media companies following the Russia election investigations (note that US internet giants will be testifying before Congress on 11/1).
• Prominent members of the Trump team decide to leave the gov’t (the market would be particularly sensitive to Tillerson, Mattis, Kelly, and/or Cohn departing; recent media reports suggest the Tillerson-Trump relationship is particularly strained).

Macro Update

• The pro-reflation bias commenced back on 9/11 and has been propelled ever since by ongoing real growth strength, firming inflation, normalizing monetary policy/rhetoric, and expansionary fiscal policy (in particular in the US w/the 9/27 tax blueprint but also in Germany following that country’s election outcome and fin min change).
• This enthusiasm can extend for a few more weeks but the ECB/BOE decisions (on 10/26 and 11/2, respectively) will mark the culmination of a series of pro-reflation catalysts/developments and thus the trade may enter a period of extended consolidation around those central bank events.
• Meanwhile the nuances of this present reflation process aren’t being appreciated – growth and corporate earnings are late-cycle (not early), multiples are already rich (although not necessarily ridiculous), inflation is only very gradually firming to target, the economy faces enormous structural headwinds in the form of labor supply and productivity growth, and while central banks are normalizing policy will stay extremely accommodative for years to come (the structural headwinds and slow tightening pace will prevent yields from materially rising and curves from significantly steepening).
• The tenor of sentiment is beginning to evolve and there is definitely greater frustration w/people being forced to participate in a tape many don’t particularly love at present levels – this helps fuel runs such has occurred over the last few weeks (the SPX hasn’t closed in the red since Mon 9/25) but it also makes for a precarious setup w/a lot of weak “renters” who will be quick to sell the minute momentum pauses.
• Bottom Line: the lack of major catalysts is helping the rally propagate and the calendar is relatively clear until earnings (which kick off w/banks on Thurs 10/12). The reflation impetus will likely stay in place into the ECB/BOE (10/26 and 11/2, respectively) after which a consolidation (at least) is likely (note that a lot of the “easy” tax steps are occurring now – the blueprint on 9/27, the budget resolutions, etc. However, reaching a consensus on rates, deductions, and deficits will be extremely difficult and this will become more apparent later in Oct and into Nov, around the same time as the ECB/BOE decisions).

Calendar of events to watch for the week of Mon Oct 9

• Calendar for the week of 10/9 – overall it should be a relatively slow week although a few items are in focus. The current reflation emphasis makes the US CPI on Fri 10/13 prob. the single most important eco data point of the week but there are other numbers in focus (German trade/IP for Aug and China imports/exports for Sept). The CQ3 earnings season kicks off in earnest with the banks on Thurs and Friday. Away from scheduled events, media reports suggest Catalonia could formally declare independence on Mon (although this could easily be delayed following court challenges and as the region’s leaders seek a settlement w/Madrid) while the White House may unveil its infrastructure spending blueprint during the week of 10/9 (http://bit.ly/2wwiop9). South Korean security officials have warned that North Korea may fire additional missiles between 10/10 and 10/18 while Trump’s Fed chair selection could come soon (media reports suggest Powell and Warsh are the two frontrunners). Trump is expected to deliver an Iranian policy speech on/around Thurs 10/12 during which he will declare the nuclear deal as no longer being in the US national interest. HON has said it will announce its formal portfolio review decision prior to earnings (media reports, including on CNBC, suggest it will retain its aerospace unit).
• Calendar for Mon 10/9 – the day should be pretty quiet owing to the US Columbus Day holiday (equities will be open but fixed income is closed). The focus will be on the China FX reserve numbers for Sept (Fri night/Sat morning 10/7), the China Caixin services PMI for Sept (Sun night/Mon morning), Germany’s industrial production for Aug (2amET), and earnings (LVMH reports results after the European close).
• Calendar for Tues 10/10 – the focus will be on the German trade figures for Aug (2amET), a bunch of analyst meetings (including TECD, Santander, WDAY, and WMT), the PG shareholder meeting (at which the Trian/Peltz board seat request will be voted on), and earnings (CUDA after the close).
• Calendar for Wed 10/11 – the focus will be on the US JOLTs report for Aug (10amET), Fed minutes from the 9/20 meeting (2pmET), analyst meetings (KR), and earnings (DAL, BLK, FAST, and OZRK before the open).

It’s the last season for Joe Louis Arena. Many pilgrims are making the trek to the Hockeytown holy ground to watch the Detroit Red Wings play. I’ve posted this guide over the years for first time visitors to the Joe. I hope you find it helpful. Suggestions welcome!

• I've been asked about safety in and around the Joe as well as nearby Detroit city streets. Detroit has a reputation of having high crime and some will say it was earned. However in the 20 years I've been going to games at the Joe and spending time around the Joe I've never felt threatened for my safety. Immediately around the Joe there are Detroit City Police officers and Olympia Security before and after the game. Inside the Joe there is Olympia Security. The city streets around the Joe and out to the restaurants and hotels are walkable and you should feel safe. But like in any modern city, keep your eyes and ears open and don't be stupid. Walk in groups. Stay (reasonably) sober. Don't go down the sketchy alley. Stay on the well-lit streets. Park in a guarded structure not on a dark side street far away. Lock your car doors. Don't leave visible items inside the car. In other words, be smart. Don't be a victim. You'll be fine and you'll have a good time.
  
• A guided tour of Joe Louis Arena is available by scheduling in advance. It only costs US$6 for adults and US$3 for children. Tours are only available on certain dates. Check the Red Wings website for more information and scheduling.
  
• Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster, or at the Joe box office (if not already sold out), or through a reseller like Stubhub or even Ticketmaster's Ticket Exchange. Join the mailing list and check out the Red Wings social media for short notice deals like student and military rush ticket pricing and Fan Packs. Be advised the special offers are typically for low demand games like weekdays. Friday and Saturday games especially near holidays are high demand and typically not going to have special offers. These games will most likely not have cheap seats even on the reseller market.
  
• The new Little Caesars Arena is still being built. You can see the progress at 66 Sibley St, Detroit, MI 48201 just west of Woodward Ave. north of I-75.
  
• Locals don’t know much about hotels in Detroit but I’ve known visitors with money to stay at the Westin Book Cadillac which is walking distance to the Joe. On the mid range side check out the Ilitch-owned Motor City Casino which also has free shuttle to the Joe. On the cheaper side still within walking distance is the Holiday Inn Express next to the Westin Book Cadillac.
  
• I recommend eating at a restaurant somewhere else besides the Joe before the game - unless you like stadium food at stadium prices. If you must eat at the Joe check out the free playbill for vendor map. If you want a complete Ilitch experience then get a slice or whole pie of Little Caesars pizza. On the lighter, fresher side is East End Joe’s deli with good subs and salads. There aren't many restaurants immediately near the Joe. I recommend somewhere iconic such as a coney from American or Lafayette (PROTIP: Lafayette) both of which are a reasonable walking distance to the Joe. Check out the /detroit sidebar for more Detroit restaurant suggestions in and around the city. Popular spots include Hockeytown Cafe and flaming cheese in Greektown.
  
• Tommy’s and Cobo Joe’s are neighborhood bars that are walking distance to the Joe if you want to drink and hangout with fans before or after. Again /detroit sidebar has more bar suggestions in and around the city.
  
• For convenience, park at the Joe Louis Arena parking structure. It may be pricier (US$25 as of 2016-10-23) and take a while to get out if you're in a rush but it is a comfortable sheltered walk down the habitrail to the Joe. If you are up for a short walk and would like to save a buck I recommend the Cobo basement for US$15. The further away you park from the Joe the cheaper it is. Many locals will park at the Greektown Casino and take the People Mover elevated tram for US$0.75 to the Joe Louis Arena stop but the line gets long after the game. Some nearby bars also have shuttles for free or a couple bucks. PROTIP: Nemo's has the best shuttle drivers and they let you bring roadies. Regardless, remember where you parked, how you walked to the Joe, and which door you came in. I’ve seen many visitors get turned around after a couple beers and a good game.
  
• Coming from Canada? There is a Windsor tunnel bus US/CAN$4.50 each way from the bus terminal downtown Windsor (Chatham and Church) to the front of Cobo. From there it is a 10 minute walk, mostly indoors. Getting through immigration takes a few minutes. Have your passport and don't be drunk. Check the schedule and give yourself at least an hour. The last bus is half an hour after the game ends. (thanks poodletown!)
  
• The Joe doors open 1.5 hours before game start but people sometimes start casually queuing before then. If there is a giveaway that game, people will queue earlier before doors open. If you want that bobblehead, get there before the doors open.
  
• If it is cold or inclement weather and the doors aren't open yet you can shelter in the Box Office below the Gordie Howe entrance or on the river side inside the closest Cobo doors to the Joe. PROTOP: In the Box Office you can pick up the #JLAwifi WIFI against the wall closest to the rink.
  
• The best photos of the Joe exterior are from street level at the corner of Jefferson and Yzerman, the Riverwalk along the Detroit River, and from the People Mover on the way to the Cobo stop. There is a Farewell to the Joe mural of sorts on the outside face of the iconic steps at both entrances. Get there early for a good photo op.
  
• Will call tickets are at the Box Office on street level at the Gordie Howe entrance of the Joe. PROTIP: Across from the will call door is the player parking entrance. If you get there early enough (2-3ish hours?) you can see the Red Wings drive up. Opposing team’s bus unloads near the river side entrance.
  
• There is a strict bag size policy enforced at the door. I’ve seen some upset people turned away at the doors. Know before you go.
  
• You will have to go through a metal detector and may be subject to extra screening to enter the Joe.
  
• Cell service inside the concrete bunker of the Joe sucks. However the Joe has free WIFI. Point your device at SSID #JLAwifi - no password but there is a click through screen.
  
• There are free playbills inside the Joe at the entrances. Grab one because it has an arena map with section numbers and vendor locations. Sometimes there are interesting articles too.
  
• There is no single large pro-shop at the Joe. However there are a couple vendors scattered around the concourse selling shirts and memorbilia. There are also some vendors setting replica jerseys and signed authentic jerseys and gear. PROTIP: the Joe prices are high for swag. Buy your gear ahead of time online or at Detroit Athletic in Detroit or Hockeytown Authentics up in Troy.
  
• There are local Detroit and Michigan craft beer vendors on the Joe concourse, check the map in the free playbill. They're priced around US$10. I'd rather overpay for good local beer than overpay for shit beer. PROTIP: Founders has had some yummy seasonal beer this year on tap at the Joe.
  
• The Olympia Club in the Joe is meh unless you're attending a specific event there. Unless you have a free pass I wouldn't bother going.
  
• Friendly ushers are everywhere to help out and answer your questions. Most will take your photo for you if you ask politely.
  
• During warmups, fans congregate around the glass. Players come out at 30 minutes before game time for warmups. PROTIP: I recommend watching the Red Wings shoot at the net during warmups from behind the net on the glass in section 101. Hearing the puck smack the glass inches from your face is neat. Same for aisle for 115 on the visiting team side behind the net.
  
• The best spot for photos of the banners hanging from the rafters is the top row of the upper level in section 215. The Howe, Lindsey, and Delvecchio statues are on the concourse just inside the Gordie Howe entrance.
  
• There are no bad seats at the Joe, just some people have preferences. OK, section 204b row 27 seat 10 sucks. Sit in your own seat. If you see seats that are still empty well into the first period then move to them. If someone asks you to move out of their seat just do it. PROTIP: if you want to hear some commentary sit in the last row (24) of sections 209-210 right below the media booths. Ken and Mickey are above 207.
  
• Don't be disrespectful during the national anthem(s). Just stand politely and shut up. Some visitors don't understand how disrespectful they can be. It's like 2 minutes, put the phone down.
  
• Most Red Wings fans are friendly people and quite knowledgeable about their team and the sport. Strike up a conversation and you'll probably learn something new.
  
• Cheer for your visiting team but don't be a dick about it.
  
• DO NOT STAND UP OUT OF YOUR SEAT WHILE THE PUCK IS IN PLAY.
  
• There are usually no lines for the new restrooms built above the concourse vendors on both sides. The original men's restrooms can get long lines because no one knows there are new restrooms. PROTIP: check out the original men's restrooms for classic old hockey barn urinal trough nostalgia.

Nickname: Lakers - LSSU's teams carry the nickname of Laker due in part to the school's name and the proximity to Lake Superior. Before being called the Lakers, they were nicknamed the Hornets.
Live Mascot: The live mascot for the Lakers is Seamore the Sea Duck. Seamore recently underwent a redesign two years ago to become the above version. With the redesign he became the sole mascot of the Lakers. Before Seamore was a dark blue bird and was often accompanied by a sailor mascot named Foghorn. Many students and alumni prefer the older design of Seamore but have been accepting of the new look.
Band: LSSU Pep Band - The LSSU Pep Band primary function is playing songs at LSSU Hockey games. Being a smaller school the Pep Band is not very large and is completely student ran. The Pep Band exists as a student organization and is not part of any academic program. They provide entertainment primarily to the students attending as they are located above the student section of the arena.

To be honest, nobody sings the fight song's lyrics. In my 4 years of attendance I never heard anyone sing them and did not know there were any lyrics until I began researching for this article. Most Lakers only know the Fight Song by the rhythm and hearing it played by the Pep Band after a goal.
Arena: Taffy Abel Arena - The Taffy Abel Arena is part of the Norris Center Athletic Complex which houses all indoor Lake State Athletics. It was built in 1976 and was last renovated last in 1995. It was named after Clarence "Taffy" Abel who is an American Hockey player born in Sault Ste Marie, MI. The Taffy Abel has a capacity of 4,000 seats. It also holds the distinction of being the only arena in the United States that has a capacity higher than the total enrollment of the school it services.
Town Information: Sault Ste. Marie, MI (aka The Soo) is a smaller college town with a population of about 15,000. It is on the border of Michigan's Upper Peninsula(UP) and Canada. Across the border is the much larger town of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario which has a population of about 75,000. The main attractions for The Soo include the Soo Locks, A variety of nature trails/parks, Kewadin Casino, The Soo Eagles (NAHL), Soo Thunderbirds(NOJHL) and the Soo Greyhounds (OHL) (The Greyhounds even let this scrub play for them).

Northern Michigan University(NMU) - Being the closest NCAA hockey program and one of the 3 in the UP, NMU is a natural rival for the Lakers.
Michigan Technological University(MI Tech) - Being another UP university with a NCAA hockey program, MI Tech makes another natural rival. LSSU was originally an offshoot of MI Tech and is considered by many to be it's little sibling school.
I will note that while NMU and Tech are LSSU's main rivals there have not been many big rivalry moments in the last few seasons leading to a more laid back rivalry.

Season Summary: It was a rough first year for Coach Whitten. After having a good chunk of the previous roster either signing with a AHL/NHL team or graduating out of the program(Including all 3 goaltenders), the fresh Laker team did not fair well this season. The players showed flashes of brilliance but could not put together the pieces to come out on top most nights. The relatively you team will hopefully have time to grow together and build team chemistry for the following seasons. While the team did make their first appearance in the WCHA tournament since joining last year, they were quickly defeated by the tournament's eventual champions Minnesota State.

Drafted Players on Roster: Being a small school with a currently less than successful program it should not be shocking to many that there are no currently drafted players playing on the Lakers. Most players that are picked up from the team are done so after the draft as a signing and do not stick around at LSSU.
Key Games
Oct. 17 Northern Michigan This is the home opener against one of the rival UP schools so it will set the tone for the year.
Dec. 11/12 Michigan Tech The Lakers double header against their other UP rival will be a test for the players. Tech is coming off a phenomenal season and it will be interesting to see how LSSU stacks up.

** Gordon Defiel - G - So** It's proving time for Gordie going into his sophomore season at LSSU. The team will need big plays by him to improve from last year's setbacks.
** Bryce Schmitt - F - Sr** Coming in second last season on the team in points, Bryce enters his senior season with the Lakers. He will be looked to for production and leadership by the team.
** Eric Drapluk - D - Sr** Drapluk lead the D corps for the Lakers last year coming in 3rd overall in points for the team. Another senior that will be looked to lead this team in a positive direction.

Closing School and City Information
City Population: 15,000
School History Founded as Soo Tech in 1946 as a satellite school of Michigan Tech. Lake State eventually became its own entity known as Lake Superior State College in 1966 and officially split from tech in 1970. They were granted university status in 1987.
Traditions
Hoholik Victory Bell: After any Laker Hockey Victory the team ditches their skates and runs outside the arena to ring the victory bell surrounded by the fans. The tradition started in the early 1980's. A new bell was installed after the original was heavily damaged following the celebration of the 1992 NCAA Championship.
Local Dining:

• West Pier is a drive-in burger joint that is a favorite among locals and tourists alike. West Pier has the best burger I have ever eaten and is pretty reasonably priced for a small operation. Sadly they are only open for part of the year and only accept cash.
  
• Clydes is West Pier's main competition and the cause of a town rivalry for burgers. Also a small drive-in burger joint that is only open part of the year, Clydes is no slouch when it comes to their food. While I personally prefer West Pier, Clydes is a great second choice.
  
• The Antlers is a small restaurant located in The Soo that features a wide variety of wild game. From bison to beef, chicken to ostrich, there is always something good to try at The Antlers.
  

Random Trivia: Men's Hockey is the only D1 sport at LSSU. LSSU's Main Campus is built on an old fort named Fort Brady. Lake State was mentioned on the Colbert Report once for banishing the work Truthiness.
Academics Big programs for LSSU include Nursing, Fire Science, Fisheries & Wildlife, and Business.

Lake City Skiers Water Ski Show: 6:30-7:30PM every Sunday and Tuesday at Hidden Lake. The shows are a themed production including music and costumes with an announcer to guide you through the action. Banksy Art on Display in Kokomo: August 4th - September 15th at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library. See a unique piece of Banksy art on display in Kokomo. Library reps speculate Kokomo just might be the first library in the world to host an actual piece of art by Banksy. Other libraries, they say, have hosted displays with posters or prints of his work, but Kokomo will have the real deal on display. The piece is called “Haight Street Rat.” It was created in San Francisco on the side of a bed and breakfast. Art collector Brian Greif paid the building owner for the rights to tear down the wall and claim the piece. The Kokomo-Howard County Public Library has planned several events related to the piece of art, starting with the unveiling from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 4 at the main branch downtown. Friday, Week 2, January 2016: Ugh, didn't sleep very well last night. I feel like absolute shit today. Better suck it up, though, we have tapings tonight and work to do this morning, plus I'm on a plane to the damn venue.
Jack Doane, Jimmy Korderas and Rene Dupree are on the one week wait list. Should have my zebra problem all figured out after this.
Truth Martini, Prince Puma, Jim Cornette, Raven and Rob Van Dam are on the roster. I stuck Martini with Hyper Force X in the hopes that they'll build each other up until I can move them both to better things. I'm having Prince Puma stay under the mask (though it's a different mask here in TNA because mo' masks, mo' money, bay-bay!) and I'm thinking about doing a long term storyline where he discovers his heritage as the descendent of Aztec royalty. I'd probably need a few more luchadores to work with him if I were to do that... anyway, right now he's on my upper midcard. Raven's going on my midcard for a little while, but I'm only using him on the roster until, like, Lockdown. After that, he's going to do better things backstage. Rob Van Dam obviously is going in my main event. It might be the tail end of his run, but I'm gonna use him for all he's worth. Jim Cornette's going on commentary for a bit. I want him to come back as a manager, but I need to figure out who to put him with. Anyway, I have Josh Mathews, Eric Santamaria and Jeremy Borash on Xplosion, and the trio of Jim Cornette, Mike Tenay and The Pope on Impact and Pay Per Views.
SHOWTIME
While I'm still driving to the venue, I can feel my phone go off a few times. Checked my phone once I get there, expecting the worst, and it's some of my friends I had backstage telling me that Robbie E is cool as fuck? Like, Robbie would have had no idea who these guys were, but he still approached them, seeing that they were someones guests, and bullshitted with them for a good hour. Really made their day. I'll remember that, Robbie.
Running the Soaring Eagle Casino in Detroit, Michigan. I remember coming here shortly after I turned 21, getting shit drunk and losing $1200. Keep in mind, this is before I was fuck-ton rich, so that was a lot of money back then. Still, amazing time. Feeling really happy and nostalgic now that I'm here- a full 180 from this morning on the plane. Okay, enough nostalgic musings, we have shows to book, goddammit!
Xplosion
Okay, we're starting off Xplosion with a match between the Osirian Portal and Hyper Force X. I thought that these are two shiny new tag teams, I know they can work a good match against each other, should put on a good match. They put on a pretty okay match, but the crowd just did not give a single fuck about them. Seems like I'm really gonna have to step up my game in finding ways to get these guys over... (E-)
Playing another hype video for Zack Sabre Jr, going to announce his opponent on Impact. At least the fans liked it more than the opening match. (D-)
Filler Four Way match between Trevor Murdock, Crazzy Steve, Mahabali Sheera and Aidan O'Shea next, with Crazzy Steve going over. Figured I'd give him a win here since something... unfortunate is going to happen to him on Impact. Murdock's taking the fall- still pissed about last week. This match was absolutely the drizzling shits, and a huge chunk of it had to do with Sheera. He's not even making it to spring cleaning, he's going to GLW first thing in the fucking morning. I knew this match wasn't going to be Guerrero-Malenko, but I still expected better than this. (E)
Taking a few minutes after that to plug the tournament semifinals matches that'll be happening over on Impact. I did this mostly to get Eric Santamaria's face out there, and he was pretty underwhelming. It's only his second night on the job, though, so I can forgive that. What I can't forgive is the fact that Josh Mathews looked like a lost fuckin' puppy out there. He's outta here! (D)
Kimber Lee and Heidi Lovelace up next. I want to keep Kimber Lee looking strong through the match, but Heidi'll get a big underdog upset win. I have no clue what the fuck happened out there, but Heidi and Kimber really shit the bed out there. I know both these girls have the skills to pay the bills, but I fear that I'll have to stick em' in GLW for a while. Pity. (F+)
After that, Dixie Carter comes to the stage and announces that the main event (Manik VS Grado) will be a #1 Contenders match for the X Division Title, winner faces Tigre Uno at Genesis. I forgot that Dixie was on the roster, and I figured I'd give her one last thing to do before my Spring cleaning. I don't think I've heard a crowd boo that loud for that long for anyone other than Roman Reigns. I'm hoping this main event doesn't totally suck, or this episode is fucked... (E)
Main event, Manik and Grado. I mean, obviously Manik's going over, but I'm giving Grado one last shot to stay on the main roster, even as just a job guy. I'm even setting things up in favor of Grado looking good here. This was easily match of the night, but that wasn't a very hard feat to accomplish. Grado was fun out there, and Manik really let him look pretty good. I'm proud of Grado. (D-)
This episode was way worse than last week's Xplosion, and I didn't know that was possible. The crowd shits all over the rookies I try to bring in, which kills the potential to use Xplosion to introduce new talent. This puts me in a complicated situation (E+)
ON TO IMPACT
Starting the show in probably the least impactful way ever- Mandrews comes out and issues an open challenge, he says something about wanting to prove himself, yadda yadda. I am aware going into this that the fans are going to hate it (and they did), but there's a reason. (E-)
None other than Raven comes out to accept the challenge, and he has this big, elaborate five minute entrance because theatrics and Raven go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly! Fans got into it. It wasn't like the second coming of Christ or anything, but they liked it. (C)
This little segment ends with Raven squashing Mandrews in three minutes. Just something to make Raven's old ass look like a million bucks. That match didn't really get over at all, but it turns out that Raven and Mandrews have great chemistry in the ring together.... the fuck? (E+)
Mike Bennett taking on Robbie E next. Alright, solid back and fourth match, around the 10 minute mark, Maria trips Robbie's foot, small package, Bennett wins. Maria and Bennett begin to celebrate, but Billy Corgan comes out, tells the ref to restart the match and bans Maria to the back. Bennett tries to argue, but Robbie comes in like a damn cheetah and pounces, gets the win. This gives Maria and Bennett a reason not to like Corgan, gives Robbie a bit of a rub (Like I said, I'll remember the nice shit you did for my friends, mate), should be good business, but wasn't that great of business. The fans really didn't pop too huge for it... bummer. I thought this would be one of the better matches of the night. (D)
Mike Tenay, Jim Cornette and The Pope announce that Zack Sabre Jr's first match in TNA will happen at Genesis, and it'll be against.... DJ Z. Yeah, I know, maybe a little underwhelming, but I think it'll be a solid enough match. Plus, with DJ Z going to GLW after Genesis, I can have Sabre squash the fuck out of him and not have to worry. The announcement got a small pop. I can live with that. (D+)
Backstage segment with the Hardyz next. Jeff wants to make sure that he and Matt are cool after last week, Matt assures Jeff that he has no hard feelings toward em'. If you're reading this, you might already recognize that that's bullshit. The slow burn continues. (C+)
Semifinals match between Hardy and Galloway. I want it to be a solid back and fourth, but with a fucky finish. Couple minutes before the finish, ref bump. Hardy ducks a clothesline and the ref gets nailed or something. Anyway, bing bang pow, Hardy nails Galloway with the Twist of Fate, goes up for the Swanton, but Paul Burchill comes in through the crowd and fucks Hardy's day up. Burchill powders, an “oblivious” Galloway makes the pin, ref magically comes to life, 1-2-3. I hate overusing dirty finishes, but I feel like I have to to tell the story I want to. So far, match of the night, by the way. (C+)
Face vs Face double debut, Gran Metallik and Prince Puma work a 15 minute time limit draw. Both guys should look great, sets up a rematch for Genesis. Upset that Metallik got pissy when I mentioned that they'd get the same amount of offense in... really hoping this guy doesn't turn out to be a huge prima donna. Metallik and Puma went out and had a real barn burner, but the fans didn't really give a shit. Kind of upsetting. (D)
Big hand shake after the match. They're faces, don't need people thinking that one of em's going heel at Genesis. Speakings of... if the fans are this dead for what was honestly a great match, how will they react at Genesis? (D)
We cut backstage, Corgan's in his office doing what the fuck ever. Mike Bennett storms in and starts yelling at Corgan for costing him his win. Corgan gives Bennett shit for being a cheating lil' bastard, but then announces the North American Title Battle Royal at Genesis, and he announces four names for the bout: Grado, Ken Doane, Robbie E and... Mike Bennett. Bennett is still unhappy with Corgan, but he leaves. Further tension leading to the debut of the Playboy's Club, plus I get to announce the battle royal. I can live with that. (D)
Willie Urbina interviews Kurt Angle backstage, and Angle puts himself over big time. I'm not even sure he tried to talk about the match... I'll have to talk to him about that. Also might want to consider getting a different backstage interviewer, because Urbina wasn't the greatest.... Josh Mathews, I might have use for you, yet. (D+)
Main event, Angle faces Bobby Roode in the semifinals of the tournament. Big, exciting face vs face match, Angle ends up going over clean. Good match, nothing to add. (C+)
After the match, EC3 and Tyrus come out from the crowd and beat the ever beloved shit out of Bobby Roode. Because Revenge. Because Playboy's do whatever they want... or something, still working on potential catch phrases for this. Tyrus didn't look the best in this. I might want to get a little more muscle in on this group if I want it to look super good. (C+)
Another alright show, this time in front of a sold out crowd of 3,000 of my home town folk. Genesis is in a couple of days, and I'm nervous about that, but I think we'll do alright. (C)
Saturday, Week 2, January 2016: Woke up to find Gran Metallik and Prince Puma bitching about how tired they are from the match they had last night. I don't know why the hell they messaged me- they KNOW they have a match at Genesis. Also, Mike Bennett has signed with ROH on a PPA deal. This better not get in the way of him working my shows... I know Dalton Castle chose to work ROH last night instead of my show. If this becomes a similar deal, I'll have no choice but to sign Bennett to an exclusive deal, which could fuck with my ROH deal in the Honor Code, and I can't have that! Fuck, the alliance is partially named after them... hind sight being 20/20, not sure why I named it that. We all know that TNA is the focal point of this alliance, dammit!
Also, got a message from Tory Hart saying that she's gotten all she can out of GLW. Girl, please, GLW hasn't even run it's first show yet! Sit down! You are okay at best right now!
Jim Cornette was making a giant stink about being just a color commentator today. Kind of annoyed at that. Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to see an angry Cornette promo in person, but maybe not being cut on me... however, he does raise a good point. He would be very valuable to this company as a heel authority figure... hmm... Dixie's on her way out, and I could still have Cornette on commentary... I think I might have to switch a few things up. Threw him 3 grand to cheer him up a bit.
Colt Cabana and Ayako Hamada are on the one-week wait list. Man, I'm gonna have so many new names to play with by this time next week, I'm so pumped!
Jerry Lynn, Austin Aries, Jake Roberts and Brian Cage are all signed! Now I just need to wait to hear from Haas. Sent Lynn to work with the younger guys in GLW. Austin Aries is going straight to the main event, and I'll probably have him as a key member (maybe even a forming member) of the Playboy's Club! Didn't expect him to get a main event slating, though. Makes my World X Cup a little more difficult to book... anyway! Jake Roberts is being put in as a personality (In reality, he's going to Xplosion for now to be an announcer. Borash is going backstage for interviews.) and Brian Cage is going to be another bodyguard for the Playboy's Club (He'll also be teaming with Tyrus called Playboy Muscle because I need tag teams)
Just found out that a huge chunk of the reason Cornette was so pissed with me was because I hired Shawn Michaels as the head trainer of the Impact Dojo. Really, Jim? C'mon, you two will literally NEVER see each other! He's not even signed with the damn company, he's a trainer that works exclusively at the dojo! Fucks sake!
Genesis is tomorrow. I'm nervous as hell, but super excited! This is my first real Pay Per View, and I think it'll be alright. Not great, maybe not even good, but alright. This is the real launching point of me as a booker and as an owner and fuck, I'm hyped for it!
Author Notes: Okay, I know that there's been a bit of a time gap between this update and the last one. Long story short, I just built a computer and I'm in the process of setting that up, and transferring all of the shit on this computer over to the new one. That's been eating up most of my free time. Until I get all of that sorted away, updates might be a little more sparing.
On a note that might seem like a giant “what the fuck” moment, I'm also running a 9000-Verse diary over on the Grey Dog Software forums. It hasn't really gotten any traction, so maybe you guys can check it out here?
Anyway, I'll try and have the fifth update up by next week. After that, I can start to toy around with my ideas more; should be a good time!
